Needle Pull-Out Resistance

This test is used to determine the maximum force that occurs when a needle is pulled out of a specimen at right angles to the entry direction The test method is used to judge the resistance of seams of felts and non-woven textile fabrics to the needle being pulled out. It requires a special clamping fixture and uses a 1 mm-thick stainless steel needle with conical tip. 

Specimen removal is effected as per DIN 54301, across and along the direction of manufacture.
